...and still plugging away. I have had a few stories shortlisted, but ultimately rejected. I have also discovered the work of one Joe Hill. I am absolutely blown away by his writing! It has been inspiring me to write even more. Once summer break is over, I will be back in a regular routine, which will make it much easier to budget my time. I am just finishing up a story I really like, and I have some making the rounds, one of which is actually pretty good! We'll see where it goes. In the meantime, go read some Joe Hill, you won't be disappointed.

2011
The goal for 2010 was to get a story published. Mission accomplished. My stories “Bank Job” and “Whistling Past the Graveyard” were both published in anthologies by Pill Hill Press. These were “for the love” projects, which means no monetary compensation. Which brings me to the goal for 2011: Make Money. I will successfully sell a story at some point this year. Baby steps. If this happens sooner in the year than later, I may revisit my original goal.
I am slowly learning more about the ins and outs of getting published. I have accumulation a healthy rejection folder so far, with many more ahead, I’m sure.
I currently have ten stories floating around. About half would result in some form of payment if they were published. Two are entered in contests. Fingers crossed.
